Artist of the Quarter | Discover San Angelo | Visual Arts Capital of Texas

The program will feature artwork from a specific medium each quarter, with the medium rotation determined in advance.

Wendy Woodring

Multimedia Artist

Wendy Woodring is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has been featured in more than 20 solo exhibitions and 30 group exhibitions across the United States and Mexico. Her artistic journey has taken her to galleries and events in Mexico, Dallas, Florida, and beyond, as well as numerous local exhibitions in San Angelo, Texas.

A dedicated advocate for the arts, Wendy has showcased her work at notable local events such as the Stribling Art Extravaganza, Open Arms Exhibit benefiting the Rape Crisis Center, Raw 1899, the Hispanic Heritage Celebration at the Railway Museum, and exhibitions at Angelo State University’s Multicultural Center. She is passionate about fostering artistic expression in the community, having organized events such as Art Until Sunset (2024) and the Art & Sale Exhibition Día de los Muertos, which benefits the San Angelo Hispanic Heritage Museum & Cultural Center (2023, 2024).

Wendy’s preferred medium is acrylic on canvas, where she explores themes of human emotion, nature, and abstract thought. In addition to painting, she creates unique clay sculptures that further complement her artistic inspirations. With a certification in Mindfulness and a background in Museums and Museography, she integrates mindful art practices into her work, using creativity as a tool for emotional expression and connection.

Beyond her personal artistry, Wendy is an accomplished graphic designer, working with Conexión San Angelo and contributing to Art & Culture Connection – Conexión al Arte y Cultura. Through her business, Storming Designs, she continues to expand the reach of art in the community by hosting events, workshops, and local collaborations. Passionate about sharing her knowledge, she finds joy in teaching and inspiring others to explore their own creative potential.
