Kassie Dilworth

Ceramics/Sculpture

Kassie Dilworth is a ceramic artist currently based in San Angelo, Texas. Working in clay for over 10 years, she has a broad set of skills that she applies to her work and allows a constant ebb and flow of changing forms and subjects within her art.

Kassie’s ceramic pieces are influenced by her years as a production potter under the tutelage of Roger Allen for The StarKeeper Gallery and her never-ending curiosity to experiment with different firing methods and clay bodies.

Her current work is in mid-range stoneware and porcelain. Kassie’s work is seeing a change in the tight lines and illustrations of her past work, giving away the gentle flows and drips that a hotter kiln offers in creating her ceramic art. Kassie also creates colored clay using inclusion stains and porcelain, utilizing the turning of the potter’s wheel to create swirling colors and twisting patterns to dominate the form and embracing the unpredictable and expressive surface design as a result.

Though still a painter at heart, her work often features her love of color and occasional illustrations. Other works find movement in a variety of added surface textures and sculptural inclusions.

Kassie’s work can be found in galleries and art festivals across Texas. She teaches ceramics publicly and privately in and around Tom Green County to individuals and groups. Kassie is also currently working with a dedicated group of artists to create the Art Spirit Collective, a non-profit artist co-op aimed at supporting local artists of all mediums and broadening community connection and interaction with these individuals through community studio access, classes, outreach, workshops, and more as it builds and grows right here in West Texas.
