Artist of the Quarter | Discover San Angelo | Visual Arts Capital of Texas

Discover San Angelo is thrilled to introduce the revamped Artist of the Quarter program, an exciting initiative aimed at celebrating the vibrant arts community of San Angelo, Texas. Each quarter, we will showcase the work of a local artist whose creativity and talent embody the spirit of our city’s rich cultural heritage. From painters to sculptors, each featured artist will have their artwork prominently displayed in the visitors center, offering residents and tourists alike a glimpse into the diverse and dynamic world of San Angelo’s visual arts scene. Join us as we highlight the Cowboys and Creatives who call San Angelo home, and experience the beauty and ingenuity of their creations firsthand.

The program will feature artwork from a specific medium each quarter, with the medium rotation determined in advance.

Artists interested in being considered for the Artist of the Quarter title will nominate themselves by submitting their work for review. For a complete list of terms and qualifications, download the file below.

Hand Weaver

Based primarily out of the Chicken Farm Art Center, Audrey specializes in hand woven items , beaded accessories and felted art. In modern times, hand weaving has al but disappeared with the advent of machines to do the work. Audrey’s belief is that if you can dream it, it can be created, and that is why we’re proud to feature her as the Artist of The Quarter.

A small collection of Audrey’s work is available for viewing and purchase at the San Angelo Visitor Center located at 418 West Avenue B, San Angelo, TX 76903.
