at Raw 1899 Gallery now through September 14
San Angelo, Texas: Raw 1899, West Texas’ premier art lounge located in historic downtown San Angelo, will present “A New Perspective” Art Show and Sale August 22 to September 14, 2024, featuring works by Midland, Texas artist, Nancy Barnard.
Nancy developed a love for art at an early age and pursued her interest in formal education, earning a bachelor’s degree in art and English from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 2013. There, she fell in love with large-scale figure painting in oils. She went on to earn a master’s degree in English from the same university and currently teaches English, Integrated Reading and Writing Development, and literature at Midland College, while continuing to paint. The visual arts, teaching, and writing are all equal passions for Nancy; she also enjoys writing poetry and fiction.
Raw 1899 hours are 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Beginning September 1, the art lounge will offer Sunday brunch 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. As of Tuesday, September 3, Raw 1899 will be open Tuesdays 4 to 10 p.m. in addition to its current hours.
