Art Thursdays in the Education Studio at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts are returning this April, and we can’t wait to welcome families back for an exciting month of creativity! Join us on April 3, 10, 17, and 24 for hands-on art experiences featuring two indoor art projects and one outdoor activity in the breezeway or patio.
On April 3 and 10, create your own planet by painting on mixed media materials and decorate a Greek vase with patterns using a stylus. On April 17 and 24, paint three-dimensional Monet Ponds of flowers and lily pads and create a This is Me Frame collage using photos and magazines. Each week, outdoors on the Ruth Blanks Matlock Education Patio you can plant Texas wildflowers in a biodegradable pot (provided by SAMFA) and take home with you to plant in your flower garden, weather permitting.
SAMFA is deeply committed to nurturing creativity in children and making art accessible to all. Art Thursdays provide a space for families to explore, create, and connect through engaging projects designed for all ages. Whether you’re a returning participant or joining us for the first time, we invite you to be part of this special program.
This event is free and open to the public. SAMFA is now open until 7 on Thursdays! Drop in anytime between 4-7 PM in the Education Studio located in the breezeway of the museum and enjoy an evening of artistic fun in a welcoming, community-driven space.
