at Raw 1899 Gallery opens June 13
San Angelo, Texas: Raw 1899, West Texas’ premier art lounge located in historic downtown San Angelo, will present Brushstrokes and Beyond Art Show and Sale June 13 to July 6, 2024, featuring works by local artist Susan Williams.
The Opening Reception will be Thursday, June 13, and the public is invited to attend free of charge and meet Susan.
Her use of vibrant colors and rich texture, primarily in acrylics, has made her work popular throughout the Southwest and beyond. Extensive travel in Western Europe and throughout the United States has influenced her creative process.
Susan’s subject matter is widely varied, ranging from semi-abstract New Mexico missions to fanciful animal depictions to wildly colored, thickly textured West Texas landscapes to contemporary still life and wildlife pieces.
“My art communicates the serenity of nature and the beauty of bringing together misfit pieces of mediums to make a cohesive work of art,” she says. “By using multiple colors in much of my work, I strive to convey the vibrance of life.”
