2022 Texas State Poet Laureate Lupe Mendez honors San Angelo this month with a writing workshop stop as part of his Texas Poetry Roadshow tour.

Award-winning Texas poet Lupe Mendez will host a writing workshop at the Stephens Central library on Saturday, January 21st, from 2-4 pm. All are welcome.

Writer, educator, and activist Lupe Mendez is the author of the poetry collection Why I Am Like Tequila, winner of the 2019 John A. Robertson Award for Best First Book of Poetry from the Texas Institute of Letters. The Texas Poetry Roadshow is a 3-part project encompassing writing workshops, virtual poetry readings, and audio anthology; more information can be found at thepoetmendez.org.
